RYA Keelboat
KEELBOAT LEVEL 1 & 2
Learn to sail on a Day Sailing yacht. During the RYA Keelboat course you will learn to sail and become a competent keelboat sailor in light winds. As part of this Day Sailing course you will be introduced to day sailing techniques, manoeuvers, rigging, mooring, safety and basic rules of the road. By the end of the RYA Keel boat day sailing course you will be able to sail in light winds without an instructor on board. It is an great introduction for anyone who wants to learn to sail.
DURATION: Each part is two days 0900 to 1700 (can be consecutive, mid week or broken over two weekends)
PRE REQUISITES: None, suitable for complete beginners.
COURSE CONTENT:
Rigging, points of sail, leaving and returning to pontoons, sailing efficiently and basic rules of the road. You will spend plenty time on the helm and crewing, which will help you become accostomed to all of the terminology and develop your techniques.

KEELBOAT LEVEL 3
The next Day Sailing Course is for those who want sailing expereince to bridges the gap between the Level 2 (Basic Skills) course and the Advanced Keelboat Seamanship. This Keel Boat Day Sailing course is intended to make the transition easier for those sailors wishing to gain more sailing experience, allowing them day sailing opportunity to develop their technique and also have a the sailing expereince of what the Advanced Courses have to offer.
DURATION: Two Days 0900 to 1700
PRE REQUISITES: RYA Keelboat Level 2 or RYA Competent Crew or
•Equivalent knowledge/experience
COURSE CONTENT:
•Rig set up for different weather conditions
•Rigging, hoisting, trimming and dropping the spinnaker
•Development of trim, balance and sail setting
•Man Overboard procedure in various conditions

KEELBOAT SEAMANSHIP
AIM: Once you have obtained enough sailing experience for you to develop your sailing skills. This RYA day sailing keelboat course gives you maximum time helming and adjusting sails to help you better understand how a sailing boat works. It is a great way to gain sailing experience in a safe RYA Keelboat Day Sailing Course.
DURATION: Two Days 0900 to 1700
PRE REQUISITES: RYA Keelboat Level 3 or RYA Competent Crew*
*This is a popular option to follow the Dayskipper Practical Course as it will help you develop your sailing skils without the many other distractions of a cruisinig yacht
