RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course
Course Overview:
This course bridges the gap between Powerboat Level 2 and the Advanced Powerboat Driver courses. More time is given to pilotage, navigation, fuel and engine checks as well as the effect of waves and rougher conditions. The use of power trims and trim tabs and berthing in different conditions are also included. Candidates need to have competent knowledge of Powerboat Level 2 with coastal endorsement. It is strongly recommended by the RYA a first aid certificate and radio operators licence is gained before taking this course.

Planning a day cruise, boat preparation, boat handling, pilotage, passage making, man overboard.
Requirements/ Prerequisites:
Boat handling to the standard of the level 2 course with a coastal endorsement. Minimum age; 16 years.
Ability after course:
Able to plan and execute short coastal passages by day.
